Tristan Allegra, age 8
Two years ago today, Tristan Allegra died at the hands of his mother. Tristan was loved by his family and friends, and was a joy to be around from the guestbook condolences left at his legacy.com account. No little boy should have one of those. Tristan’s teacher pondered that as she looked at him in her class she wondered what he would become: a doctor, a lawyer, perhaps an engineer, but his life was cut short by his mother who took his life on Christmas Day, 2008.
According to a Port St. Lucie Police Department arrest affidavit, Eryn Allegra, gave her son, Tristan, eight adult dosage Advil pills to put him to sleep on Christmas Eve in a room at the Holiday Inn in Port St. Lucie. Eryn stated that she showed the pills to Tristan and that “he was interested in them” and said he had a headache and she gave them to him with some Coke and he was “happy”. He then got very sleepy and fell asleep. Between 3 and 4 a.m. Christmas morning she said that she was worried that the pills might not “do the job on him” and that he would turn into “a vegetable”. She didn’t want him to “suffer unnecessarily”. It was then that she placed the hotel pillow on Tristan’s face and smothered him with a pillow. (more…)
